About Me

In the words of the warrior-poet Shawn Carter, "allow me to re-introduce myself."

Hi! My name is Alejandro López, and I am an aspiring journalist. I am slated to graduate from the University of Florida this coming May with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, minoring in Communication Studies. I'm also in the process of applying to graduate school, having already gained acceptance into DePaul University's Master of Arts in Journalism program.

Despite my lack of formal journalism training, I've managed to gain experience as a published writer in both print and online publications — you can find samples of my work in the Articles section of this site.

Away from the keyboard, I row in sweep-oared shells for the UF Crew (the '96 Olympic course is pretty darn cool) and derive undue pleasure from memorizing complex raps. Some of my other hobbies include: playing the guitar, bass and drums; discovering new restaurants with friends and geeking out about Star Wars with my girlfriend; and wishing I had the time to own a Siberian Husky.

If you're interested in finding out more about me in greater detail, you can download a PDF copy of my current résumé by clicking on the button at the bottom of this page. If you'd like to send me a message, head on over to the contact page on the navigation bar.

In the meantime, feel free to look around and jam out to your heart's content. Thanks for stopping by!
